Omar has extensive experience in Corporate and Commercial areas, with a focus on diverse practices and sectors including Data Privacy, TMT, FinTech, antitrust, distribution, consumer protection and employment areas.
He joined Sharkawy and Sarhan Law Firm in August 2020 and was seconded for 20 months full-time to a tech giant where he acted as an in-house counsel advising on all matters of Egyptian law.
Prior to joining Sharkawy and Sarhan, he acted as in-house counsel for almost four years and half at (i) a subsidiary of a major European bank (ii) multinational manufacturer of FMCG. Omar also worked as a researcher on law and economics related projects, at Hamburg and Cairo universities for almost a year.
Omar is a holder of a double master’s degree in law and economics from the University of Hamburg and Cairo University.
